How do you define quality when everyone appears to be so similar?
All elder care companions and caregivers undergo a comprehensive background screening including a Level 2 background screening. Level 2 is a fingerprint check of state and federal criminal history information conducted through the Florida Department of law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). We also thoroughly check professional and personal references.
For 20 years American Home Companions has had a guarantee of compatibility which allowed clients to determine if they liked their caregivers. It was a “soft science” developed over the years by trial and error so that we had a very high success rate of matching clients and caregivers based on their experience, sensitivity and compassionate nature. We found though that there are some consistent attributes that make for a good match and we have developed a unique and patentable process for identifying personality and behavior traits that are best suited for specific companionship requirements. We call this unique process our Caregiver Compatibility Index.

In addition to compatibility, training and skill are other caregiver attributes that are important to American In-Home Care clients who require assistance with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility and transferring. Just like the Caregiver Compatibility Index we have developed a process to identify the best caregivers for our clients through the CVSI accreditation. The Home Health Aides and Certified Nursing Assistants who have the received the appropriate training and have relevant experience are accredited by American In-Home Care as Credentialed, Verified, Screened and Insured (CVSI).
